Carol Pawlak is responsible for communications consultancy at Nearwaves. With more than 25 years of experience in a variety of tech industries, Pawlak is a seasoned professional who developed her craft at large corporations and small agencies. Most recently Pawlak directed Corporate Affairs and Philanthropy for the biotechnology company Amgen in Seattle and San Francisco; and served as chief of staff to Amgen’s San Francisco R&D site head. Specializing in a broad range of corporate affairs disciplines, Pawlak provides sound strategy and project implementation in the areas of internal communications, media relations, community relations and philanthropy. Pawlak is also available for project work such as message development, media training and crisis communications. Pawlak is the former Board Chair for Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda’s Club Seattle); and has served on the board of the California Life Sciences Institute; the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Health Committee and Working Group; and has lectured on Communications and Public Relations at the University of Washington.
